Constructive crits are welcome. I would still like to improve on lighting and reflections, as well as starting to get into brushwork styles. After a year or more with Painter it's finally starting to feel comfortable!

This piece was created as a gift for my mother for the holidays this year. I spent about 60 hours learning as I went as part of my transition to complete 2D without the use of 3D assistance and was done in Photoshop CS and Painter IX.5.

Reference material included photos of my mother's sofa fabric for the kimono so it would match...beacuse my mother ALWAYS matches. Also , the face reference came from a photo my father shot many years ago, which has become a family favorite.

This was output to 24x36 size and custom-framed as the final output.
Thank to Rebecca Kimmel for the help in the anatomy workshops! Done using only Painter and Photoshop. Jewish tradition also teaches that the pomegranate is a symbol for righteousness.
